Thumbs Up

A stirring, true story of one squad in the Vietnam War.

GAPP – A lovable, southern rebel always ready with stories for his buddies and fire and hate for the enemy.

FRANCOIS – The proud city kid who had a knack for finding trouble and a passion for beautiful women.

JARVIS – A raging soldier. Tougher than Gapp and Francois together. His only motivation – revenge.

These and seven others comprised First Squad of Charlie Company. They fought in the steamy jungles of Vietnam to save each other and to save themselves. Their greatest wish was to take that last chopper ride out of the jungle…sitting up.

Most did not.

Dan Favreau was featured with his book THUMBS UP in the Gallery 12 area of Daytons in downtown Minneapolis in 1985.

He was hosted and interviewed by Dan Hertsgaard of WCCO Radio. The large gathering enjoyed hearing stories and accounts of Dan Favreau’s experiences in Vietnam.
